Roush Shelby SR-71 Ford Mustang
Jack Roush of Roush Performance in collaboration with Carroll Shelby has announced that they will develop a Ford Mustang SR-71 which is inspired by the USAF aircraft SR-71 “Blackbird”.
The SR-71 Ford Mustang (S for Shelby, R for Roush) is being built by all the people involve at ROUSH facility In Livonia, Michigan.
The Roush Shelby SR-71 Mustang is powered by an all-new aluminum block 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine coupled with a 2.3-liter Whipple Twin Screw Supercharger with Ford Racing calibration and Roush intake. The car Mustang is also fitted with Ford Racing tuned exhaust and tips while its suspension system is replaced with Ford Racing Handling Pack.
The SR-71 Mustang stands on SVT Track Pack wheels in custom paint measuring at 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear.
At the exterior, the muscle car features glass roof with unique graphic treatment and unique non-production matte and silver exterior paint treatment with SR-71 cues.
Inside, the SR-71 features custom Recaro race seats with embroidered signatures of Jack Roush and Carroll Shelby, custom racing steering wheel, removed rear seat to accentuate cockpit environment, Ford Racing performance gauge cluster, modified navigation screen and instrument cluster, roll cage and custom IP badging, sill plates and floor mats.
The Roush Shelby SR-71 Ford Mustang will be displayed during the AirVenture from 26 July until 31 July while the auction for the car will take place on 29 July at the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
